Jack's First Stitches

Well, I guess you could say Jack was in a bar fight. OK just a fight with a bar stool. It seems that grandma's "free baby sitting" is now going to cost me a pretty penny from a trip to the ER. Jack bit all the way through his lip after tipping the bar stool backwards. He ended up with 5 stitches. I took these pictures the following morning. It was really swollen and bruised for a couple days and I got to take the stitches out at home. These pictures and stitches are great for the baby book.

Where's my Whip???

Oh, the matching Christmas present. All the guys in my family got the same hat for Christmas and didn't mind modeling it for the camera. You decide...who looks most like Indiana Jones?

Craig...here's looking at you.

James....sly as ever.

D.J.....I can't believe I'm wearing this hat.

Drew...let me get my big paws on you.

Baby Joel

Joel has turned into a pretty happy baby. He is starting to laugh and coo at anyone who pays attention. he weighed 17 lbs 13 oz at his 4 month check-up. As you can see, his thighs do the talking.
Christmas morning in his special PJs.

Joel giving us his serious look.

More Pictures from Santa Train

Jack, Afton, Grandma & Paw all had fun at the Santa Train. I'm not sure who's idea it was to stand in front of the train. Who cares, the picture is cute.

Santa Train

This is the Santa Train. This train travels across Southern Indiana and Illinois making several stops on its journey. We decided to load up the car and take Jack, Afton, Joel, Grandma & Grandpa to see Santa. There were also lots and lots of characters from kids movies present. It took some time for the kids to warm up to them. We had a great time and I'm sure we will do it again next year.
Jack's first time to visit Santa. I think he sat on his lap only to get the candy cane. He LOVES!!! candy canes.

Jack & Afton waiting in line to see Santa Claus. As you can see in the background Joel is sleeping through the whole adventure. Is that kid ever going to stay awake and have some fun.

James, Jack & Buzz Lightyear. One of Jack's favorite movies is Toy Story. After seeing Buzz every morning when Jack woke up for the next week he told me, and I quote: "I saw my Buzz Lightyear" It truly made his day.

Sleeping Deer

Here is the first deer of the season for my brothers, Craig & D.J.
They were both so excited and stopped by to show us. The funny thing is that Jack seemed to think that the deer was sleeping. To this day he will still say "Momma, deer sleeping in Craig's truck.". I just go along with him. Why shake his world up at such a young age.

Introducing....Clark Griswald

I know it has been along time since my last post, but Christmas is in full swing around our house and I just haven't had much time. These pictures are from before Thanksgiving when we started putting up Christmas lights. This tree is at least 40 ft tall.
Here's Clark putting up his jumbo bulbs on the tree. The pole he is using had to be modified with duct tape and 2 separate extensions to make it long enough.

If you look closely you can see just how tall the tree is and how long the pole actually is. We have had plenty of laughs to go around thinking about this day. I am thankful though that my husband took the time to make our home festive.
